what is anointing of the sick?

"The Church believes and confesses that among the seven sacraments there is one especially intended to strengthen those who are being tried by illness, the Anointing of the Sick." (CCC, 1511). This sacrament gives the grace of strengthening, peace, and courage to those who are suffering from serious illness, injury, or very old age. It also strengthens us, when our life is jeopardized, against the temptations of the devil who constantly prowls about the world seeking the ruin of souls. 

how do i go about receiving the anointing of the sick?

In the event of a serious injury or illness, please call the Parish Office for the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.
